My breast have always been too large for my tastes, and often cause me back issues, and I’m considering getting a reduction. Once I arrived, the doctor talked to me about what I wanted to have done and then did an examination of my tummy area. We talked about my expected results and looked at before and after pictures of other patients that had tummy tucks. My doctor went through several body types and pointed out similarities and results that would likely be close to what I would experience. The difference was ASTOUNDING.
Silicone breast implants are the most commonly used and most frequently recommended breast implants in Michigan. The silicone gel used is engineered to be highly cohesiveness, so in the extreme case that the implant ruptures, it will not leak any harmful substances into the body. If the implant ruptures you will not notice a decrease in the volume of the breasts, so it is advisable to have an MRI periodically to detect breakage, even though it’s rare. In addition, the silicone gel promotes a much more natural appearance and a more natural feeling.
We strongly recommend you choose an implant type with your surgeon, who will be able to match the right type to accomplish your desired results. All available implants are considered good, safe choices. However, this article will explain the pros and cons of each of the three main types of breast implants so you can get an idea of what might be the best fit for you.

In a world where celebrities go under the knife with alarming frequency, it can be easy to think that plastic surgery is just no big deal, but it is important to recognize, a tummy tuck is a major surgery. Before you commit, it’s important you’re armed with all the facts, and you know what to expect at each stage of the process.  Over the next three posts, I’ll cover what you should consider and know in the pre-op phase, what to expect on surgery day and what to anticipate as you recover.

Firstly about surgical technique. Breast lift and reduction employ similar surgical technique, it's just that with reduction you're removing more breast tissue (because the biggest aim of a reduction is.... to reduce the size of the breast). Does breast lift remove SOME breast tissue, the answer is yes, but the AIM of the lift is more to restore the youthfulness of the breast. Both women, one wanting a reduction vs a lift need their nipple/areolar complex repositioned "up". Only the woman wanting a reduction need the volume addressed.

I recently had an abdominalplasty done by Dr. Pugash. I am extremely happy with the results, just after 2 months. He is an excellent surgeon and takes the time to answer all of your questions. The staff is very pleasant. I trusted Dr. Pugash to do what he thought needed to be done and he exceeded my expectations. I also didn't feel much pain at all after the surgery. It took me a month to stand upright fully, and that was uncomfortable but it is an extensive surgery so it is important to give yourself time to heal and follow his instructions. I highly recommend him.
However, if a patient schedules a consultation with me and finds that they cannot afford my services, I have recruited a brilliant young surgeon who has my stamp of approval, and is excellent in his own right. If it is a case in which experience makes a significant difference, I will recommend that the client consider undergoing surgery performed by me. However, we stand by the quality of this office, and if my protege is capable of meeting the patient's needs, we can discuss this option further.

With cosmetic surgery, communication between patient and surgeon is essential. The surgeon must assess whether the patient’s desires are feasible and realistic. Similarly, the patient should evaluate the physician’s qualifications, ability, and proficiency to inform. Dr. Chen Lee will listen attentively to fully understand the outcome you desire from plastic surgery. While there is no universally accepted definition, a “mini tummy tuck” is most commonly described as a tummy tuck that has no scar around the belly button and a shorter low, horizontal incision than traditional tummy tucks. A mini tuck removes loose skin from below your belly button instead of your whole stomach. It’s a popular way to address post-pregnancy issues like sagging skin, stretch marks, or C-section scars.
While a breast lift can be performed at any age it is recommended that the procedure be undertaken only when breast development has stopped. Childbirth and breast-feeding can have a significant effect on the size and shape of your breasts. Though some women decide to have their breast lift or breast reduction before having children, you should discuss any plans to breast-feed with your plastic surgeon.
Saline implants are composed of a plastic shell filled with sterile water and salt, medically known as saline. Saline implants are the oldest types of breast implants, and although they are outdated, some women still prefer them. Saline implants can deflate over time, increasing the possibility of complications such as undulations and bends, and the implant rupturing. In the extreme case of a rupture, the salt water filling is absorbed by the body without causing any harm, although obviously the volume loss will be noticed gradually and need to be treated.

The current semantic diversity of the word plastic has a long history of development. Essentially, there are two ways of using this term.[5] In its original sense plastic relates to formation or shaping of matter, i.e. to plastic art. Plastic can also be used figuratively in the meaning of formation of non-material things (e.g. writing a poem, creating a piece of music, and so on), i.e. in the meaning of the power to create. Both notions have been around for thousands of years. The origin of the dual history of the materialistic and philosophical use of plastic can be traced back to the ancient Greek craft of pottery and mythology, respectively. Wider textual use of the term plastic began with Pliny the Elder’s (23 – 79 AD) Plastice, a chapter in his Natural History. The semantic flourish of plastic started only at the end of the 18th century when Johann Gottfried Herder introduced the concept of “plastic sense” in his aesthetic essay Plastik (Sculpture) of 1778.[5]
Bellesoma is a new breast reduction and lift technique that seems like it would be a great fit for you.  This procedure utilizes 3-D volumetric scanning and a multi-point measuring system to design a precise surgical blueprint exactly tailored to your body and the reduced breast size that you desire. The Bellesoma procedure reduces the sagging and weight of your breast, lifts your breast and reduces areola diameter, preserves the nipple sensation and ability to breast feed.  After Bellesoma, your breasts will look as full and perky as if an implant had been placed without using any implant, so no need to compromise.  One of the huge positives of this technique is that there is NO vertical incision traveling down the front of your breasts.

Some people turn to plastic surgery to correct a physical defect or to alter a part of the body that makes them feel uncomfortable. For example, guys with a condition called gynecomastia (excess breast tissue) that doesn't go away with time or weight loss may opt for reduction surgery. A girl or guy with a birthmark may turn to laser treatment to lessen its appearance.

While a breast lift can be performed at any age it is recommended that the procedure be undertaken only when breast development has stopped. Childbirth and breast-feeding can have a significant effect on the size and shape of your breasts. Dr. Cohen specializes in breast lifts, augmentations, revisions and reductions as well as breast cancer reconstructions. A long time dream of Dr. Cohen’s was to travel to developing countries and provide expert surgical care to those who have no other possible access to medical care. This became a reality in 2007 when she became a founding member and Vice President of ISMS Operation Kids.
While a surgeon's credentials and reputation can certainly be a great indication that your surgery will provide satisfying results, it is not a guarantee. Surgery is never 100 percent predictable in its outcomes. I and most surgeons I know, as experienced as we are, cannot actually guarantee what we do. I stand behind what I do, and that's my best warranty. If there are some problems with unfavorable scarring or contour problems, you should expect some further expenses involved in revising your results, but they should be small compared to the cost of your original surgery.
Once you have made the important decision to proceed with cosmetic surgery, Anne will organize a preoperative medical evaluation, laboratory tests, order specialized surgical equipment, implants, and schedule the procedure with the surgical facility. Most of Dr. Lee’s surgical procedures are performed at the private hospital Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie (CMC). Dr. Lee also offers ambulatory cosmetic procedures at two “state of the art” private surgical facilities. Westmount Square Surgical is conveniently located less than 100m from our office. RocklandMD Surgery Center is a beautiful facility located in the Town of Mont Royal. Both are preeminent private ambulatory surgery facilities offering a high standard of surgical care.
Breast lift surgery, also called mastopexy, is a procedure to lift the breasts in order to rejuvenate a woman’s figure and provide a breast profile that is youthful in appearance. A breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift can reduce this as well.
A breast reduction with lift surgery combines two procedures to improve the size and shape of the breasts. A reduction involves decreasing the size of overly large breasts by removing excess tissue and skin. A breast lift is done in order to raise and reshape the breasts. The breast reduction and lift procedure helps to alleviate problems caused by overly large, sagging breasts, including:
A tummy tuck procedure is appropriate for most healthy men and women who want to improve their abdominal contours through surgery at our practice. Unlike liposuction, a tummy tuck can address loose folds of skin, fat deposits, stretch marks, and even abdominal muscles that have been stretched or weakened, leading to a protruding abdomen. Abdominoplasty is popular in combination with body contouring procedures after weight loss as well as in conjunction with breast lift surgery.

If you have a job that doesn’t require much physical movement (a desk job, for example), you may be able to go back to work after about two weeks. If you have a more physical job, you may need more time off from work, or may have to request lighter duty until you’re able to return to your pre-surgery tasks. Your doctor can provide you with a letter supporting this request.
Aesthetic, or cosmetic, surgery entered into the public consciousness with the advent of refinements that rendered safe the rejuvenation of the face and body through procedures such as face-lifts, breast augmentation, and liposuction. This was coupled with an increasing emphasis on minimally invasive procedures, such as injections of botulinum toxin (Botox) and cosmetic soft-tissue fillers (e.g., collagen and hyaluronic acid).
Congenital and traumatic defects of the head and neck region fall under the scope of plastic surgery. Cleft lip and cleft palate deformities, premature fusion of skull elements, and persistent clefts in the facial skeleton require complex soft tissue and bone rearrangement. The introduction of internal fixation systems that use screws and plates has greatly facilitated congenital reconstructions as well as correction of traumatic fractures. Novel permutations of these fixation devices have been developed; for example, distraction osteogenesis is a technique used to induce bone growth from hypoplastic (incompletely developed) bone by traction exerted by moveable plate systems. Biomaterials, such as absorbable plate systems and bone cements, are being improved continually and are often used in pediatric craniofacial surgery.
If your surgeon does not have a private surgical suite, this can save you a considerable amount of money compared to the cost of undergoing surgery in an ambulatory surgical center or a hospital. The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation reports that the average facility fee for undergoing an outpatient procedure in a non-profit hospital is about $2,300, while a for-profit hospital charges nearly $1,800. However, facilities in many states will actually offer a discount to patients paying out of pocket. This is especially true among facilities in Maryland, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Vermont. If you consult with a surgeon who performs in a hospital, be sure to ask about any potential discounts you can expect as a cash-pay patient.
Reconstructive plastic surgery is performed to correct functional impairments caused by burns; traumatic injuries, such as facial bone fractures and breaks; congenital abnormalities, such as cleft palates or cleft lips; developmental abnormalities; infection and disease; and cancer or tumors. Reconstructive plastic surgery is usually performed to improve function, but it may be done to approximate a normal appearance.
In 1891, American otorhinolaryngologist John Roe presented an example of his work: a young woman on whom he reduced a dorsal nasal hump for cosmetic indications. In 1892, Robert Weir experimented unsuccessfully with xenografts (duck sternum) in the reconstruction of sunken noses. In 1896, James Israel, a urological surgeon from Germany, and in 1889 George Monks of the United States each described the successful use of heterogeneous free-bone grafting to reconstruct saddle nose defects. In 1898, Jacques Joseph, the German orthopaedic-trained surgeon, published his first account of reduction rhinoplasty. In 1928, Jacques Joseph published Nasenplastik und Sonstige Gesichtsplastik.

Anesthesia is administered to prevent the patient from experiencing pain as the surgeon creates incisions, removes excess tissue, and carries out the other steps of a tummy tuck procedure. It can be administered either by an anesthesiologist or by a nurse. In many cases, anesthesia expenses are charged by the hour. Anesthesia performed by an anesthesiologist can cost $450 per hour or more. Having a nurse administer the anesthesia can provide a cost savings, incurring fees of about $300 an hour or more. In my experience, there is no issue or concern with the quality of anesthesia administered by a nurse.

In general, you can expect that the cost of a tummy tuck will be most affected by the surgeon you choose, the scope of treatment, and the reason for treatment. In some cases, a physician may determine that a tummy tuck can provide medical benefits. This is especially true of patients who have experienced massive weight loss following bariatric surgery. Under these circumstances, insurance coverage can apply. In other cases, patients may simply wish to achieve a cosmetic enhancement, and should expect to have to pay for the procedure out of pocket. In either case, it pays to do your research and make choices that will bring you genuine long-term satisfaction.

Also referred to as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that flattens and reshapes your midsection. Whether you’ve lost muscle tone and gained excess fat and skin due to childbirth, or after losing a large amount of weight, a tummy tuck can give you back the flat, trim belly you once had, and help you feel confident about yourself again.
