Other people decide they want a cosmetic change because they’re not happy about the way they look. Teens who have cosmetic procedures — such as otoplasty (surgery to pin back ears that stick out) or dermabrasion (a procedure that can help smooth or camouflage severe acne scars) — sometimes feel more comfortable with their appearance after the procedure.

The surgeon makes incisions in the skin, usually on the crease under the breast, around the areola and along the underside of the breast. After removing excess skin, the doctor will move the areola and nipple to a new, higher position, pull the skin down to reshape the breast, and then stitch the incisions. Usually, the procedure requires general anesthesia. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons[1] provides a detailed description of the surgery.
Silicone breast implants are the most commonly used and most frequently recommended breast implants in Michigan. The silicone gel used is engineered to be highly cohesiveness, so in the extreme case that the implant ruptures, it will not leak any harmful substances into the body. If the implant ruptures you will not notice a decrease in the volume of the breasts, so it is advisable to have an MRI periodically to detect breakage, even though it’s rare. In addition, the silicone gel promotes a much more natural appearance and a more natural feeling.
It is certainly possible to lift a breast without changing the volume or removing any tissue, however, the breast will sometimes appear smaller after this procedure due to its position. It is also possible to reduce breast volume without lifting the tissue (usually via liposuction) but all reductions that are performed by making incisions will also include a lift.

Bringing a partner or trusted friend or family member to this appointment can often be a good idea.  They can ask questions they have and having another person to recall the answers can be invaluable, especially when you are under anesthetics and drugs the day of.  It can also be helpful to have the support person who will be helping care for you post-surgery come with you, so everyone knows what to expect.  At this appointment, you’ll get instructions about the schedule of your procedure, medications you should and shouldn’t take, and your eating and drinking restrictions just before surgery.  Be sure to talk to your doctor about anxiety you might have about the procedure for suggestions about how to manage your fears.

Smooth implants are softer than textured implants and this provides women with a more natural feel to their breasts after surgery. In smooth implants, the incision made to insert the implant is smaller than with a textured implant, as it is easier to slide under the tissue. In addition, in the rare case of an infection, it is difficult for bacteria to take hold, since they do not have wrinkled creases. This makes antibiotic treatment very effective.
Dr. Fouda Neel is one of the leading surgeons in the field of cosmetic surgery. Prior to your procedure he will explain what is involved in your aftercare. It is important that you pick up any prescriptions for pain medication or antibiotics before your surgery. Not all patients require post-surgery antibiotics and Dr. Fouda Neel will discuss this with you during your initial meeting.

If you're considering plastic surgery, talk it over with your parents. If you're serious and your parents agree, the next step is meeting with a plastic surgeon to help you learn what to expect before, during, and after the procedure — as well as any possible complications or downsides to the surgery. Depending on the procedure, you may feel some pain as you recover, and temporary swelling or bruising can make you look less like yourself for a while.
When most people think about breast enhancement options they typically think of breast augmentation surgery. While there are many women who wish to increase the size of their breasts (breast augmentation continues to be the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the U.S.), there are also many women who seek to reduce or reposition their breasts without adding extra volume.
Your doctor should be able to give you a good idea of what type of results to expect from your procedure and a clear picture of what the recovery process will be like.  Your doctor will give you a physical examination and review your medical history.  They’ll be paying attention to your general health and risk factors as well as your skin tone and condition.
Round breast implants, as the name implies, have a rounded shape to them. In America and in Europe, round implants are the most frequently used shape, although teardrop implants have been increasing in popularity and may soon be just as popular as round implants. Round implants can be both smooth or textured, while teardrop implants are only available in textured. This is because textured surfaces prevent rotation, and rotation of a teardrop implant would cause a noticeable deformity in the breasts.
Fat transfer breast augmentation has a few important limitations. First, fat transfer is typically limited to approximately one cup size increase in breast size. Second, the transferred fat may be absorbed again by the body. Third, it is more expensive because of the extra time involved in harvesting and processing donor fat as well as possible need for a special vacuum bra device. This option is best reserved for women who desire a modest increase in size without using an implant.
